In this powerful episode of The Soul Traveller Podcast, we meet Rigzin—a living example of human endurance, discipline, and quiet determination. With a strong academic and professional background and an extraordinary athletic life beyond office hours, Rigzin’s story challenges conventional ideas of limits, preparation, and possibility.
From classrooms at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Hindu College to high-altitude mountains and ultra-distance cycling routes, this conversation explores what it truly means to balance ambition, service, and physical resilience.
Rigzin is an alumnus of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Hindu College, University of Delhi. Professionally, he has built a serious corporate career, working as a Livelihood Lead with organisations such as Reliance and EDII, contributing to rural development and livelihood initiatives.
Outside the corporate world, Rigzin is an endurance athlete and mountaineer whose achievements are nothing short of extraordinary:
Summited Mount Nun (7,153 metres), one of the highest peaks in the Indian Himalayas
Cycled from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, covering extreme terrain and distances
Secured 2nd Rank at the IIT Bombay Marathon while working full-time
In 2019, he did what most would consider impossible—he bought a bicycle and rode to Khardung La Pass the very next day without any formal practice, redefining mental toughness and self-belief.
Rigzin’s life reflects a rare blend of academic grounding, social commitment, and extreme physical endurance. His transition from being a trekking guide to studying at the Delhi School of Social Work (DSSW) and later working in the corporate development sector highlights a journey shaped by both lived experience and professional purpose.
Whether it is climbing 7,000+ metre peaks or cycling nearly 200 kilometres a day, his story is rooted in consistency, mental discipline, and respect for the body and environment.

Rigzin’s journey reminds us that endurance is not built overnight, yet courage often begins with a single step—or a single ride. This episode is a source of motivation for students, working professionals, athletes, travellers, and anyone seeking balance between career, purpose, and physical well-being.
It speaks to the power of discipline, simplicity, and believing in oneself even when preparation seems insufficient.
